The pandemic has inspired so many changes and innovations. But when it’s over, one innovation may have an outsized effect on the future: mRNA (messenger RNA) technology.
Unlike traditional vaccines, mRNA vaccines don’t expose our bodies directly to pathogens. They trigger an immune response with just a snippet of genetic code.
While this may have been the first mRNA technology to work in humans, many hope it won’t be the last.
